Burchell Nursery has one of the oldest and most prolific in-house breeding programs in the industry. Since its inception in the 1960’s, the Burchell breeding program has developed and introduced more nut and fruit varieties than any of its competitors culminating in the official incorporation of Burchell Breeding Inc. in 2020.

FOCUSED ON
FRUIT

For the future, having a breeding program to develop new varieties that will benefit the industry and address the needs of the farmers and the consumers is a long term-goals. There is always the prize out ahead that if we listen to what the industry needs, make smart crosses that yield new and beneficial varieties, growers will plant them, and we can help to sustain this industry together.
